3D Printing Internship

Aim -

To learn more about the practical aspects of 3D printing. My work at the firm was to convert large scale models of refineries, factories etc. into small scale 3D printable equivalents. Apart from that, I 3D printed a compound epicyclic gear train.

Motivation -

With nothing to do in the first summer after joining college, I was actively seeking to productively use the time learning and exploring 3D modelling and 3D printing, a field that I had just begun exploring some months before.

What I learnt -
  • Managing large scale models on Autodesk Fusion 360

  • Practical nitty gritties associated with 3D printing

  • Design and calculations associated with an epicyclic gear train

Rough Timeline -
  • May 2018
